The Opportunity
This is not your typical sales arborist position. You will be instrumental in establishing our newest location, growing it from a 3-person crew to a thriving operation. You'll enjoy the autonomy of an entrepreneur with the support and resources of our successful, family-oriented company.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead both sales efforts and daily operations for the Monterey location
  • Conduct professional tree assessments and develop proposals that address client needs
  • Manage all aspects of crew operations including hiring, training, and safety
  • Oversee equipment, inventory, and quality control processes
  • Build and maintain P&L responsibility with focus on sustainable growth
  • Represent Maguire Tree Care in the Monterey community and at industry events
  • Balance customer acquisition with operational efficiency and service delivery
  • Monitor business performance metrics including sales conversion and job profitability
  • Take full ownership of the location's success with support from the broader organization
Required Qualifications
  • ISA Certification as an Arborist (required)
  • 3+ years of experience in tree care sales with demonstrated success
  • Proven track record of business development and relationship building
  • Experience managing tree service crews
  • Thorough knowledge of local tree species, regulations, and arboricultural practices
  • Strong understanding of tree risk assessment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and digital estimation tools
Preferred Qualifications
• Established relationships and connections in the Monterey area
• Additional certifications (TRAQ, CTSP, etc.)
• Experience in startup or new business development
• History of scaling operations and team building
• Background in high-end residential and/or commercial tree care
