In this role, you'll handle financial reconciliations, premium invoicing, and payment processing while collaborating with internal teams and external vendors. Key Responsibilities
Monitor and respond to inquiries regarding premium invoicing.
Analyze over- and under-payments, submitting findings for leadership review.
Investigate premium discrepancies and provide recommended solutions.
Develop SQL queries to reconcile various revenue streams, ensuring accurate member accounts.
Resolve payment disputes and process financial transactions efficiently.
Work with print vendors to create/update premium billing notifications and member notices.
Coordinate with business process outsourcing (BPO) vendors for system modifications.
Review and process refund requests and overpayments.
Verify broker commission payments for accuracy.
Prepare month-end reports and journal entries for financial and management reporting.
Interpret regulatory requirements related to premium billing, member notices, and revenue reconciliation.
Serve as a trusted resource, building and maintaining strong internal relationships.
Demonstrate a commitment to process improvement by incorporating LEAN principles.
Support additional duties as needed to ensure successful health plan operations.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years in premium billing, premium reconciliation, and/or financial reporting. Managed care experience related to commercial products is required.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Health Care Administration, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL query development, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
Knowledge & Abilities:
Strong understanding of premium billing practices in healthcare.
Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with a high level of attention to detail.
